The Federal Emergency Management Agency or FEMA is a US government agency under the US Department of Homeland Security initially meant to coordinate federal response to a disaster that overwhelms local and state resources. It was created under Presidential Order in April 1979.
Now, in the after effects of the 911 terrorist attacks and its failure to response to the Katrina aftermath, many are speculating that the FEMA now assumes a much greater role - a more sinister role.
Speculative has it that the FEMA is invested with the authority and the power to supercede the law and other agencies of the government as well as operate outside the constitution. In times of emergency, it becomes a government within a government.
It can suspend laws, arrest and detain citizens without benefit of a warrant or trial and confiscate property on the pretext of protecting the country in the event of a nuclear attack or some other devastating calamity that can paralyze the normal functions of the government.
A string of Executive Orders (EO) created the FEMA. These orders take on the force of law even if unconstitutional as long as they are published in the Federal Registry.
Speculative Justification:
It is speculated that there are about 600 to 800 prison camps in the US ready to accept and process prisoners as provided for in the mandate given to the FEMA. These prison/concentration camps are currently empty with just some guards as they have been constructed either new or mostly from decommissioned military bases with a capacity of about 20,000 inmates each.
The largest is said to be in Fairbanks, Alaska which can hold up to 2 millions prisoners.
The FEMA prisons become fully operational in the event Martial Law is declared in the country and a military rule takes place. It falls under the Rex 84 program initially established to round up any potential mass exodus of illegal aliens form the US/Mexico border and put them in these camps. But speculative is rife that these camps are meant more than detaining illegal migrants. It is meant to detain dissenters in the event of Martial Law.
Are they real?
Speculation is rife that these prison camps are real and operate under some disguise like a mental hospital, water treatment plant or some other ruse. The suspicion is fanned due to the highly restrictive security fences around these facilities and their location which makes no sense to a thinking observer.
But US officials are quick to douse such dangerous allegations which have been fanned by recent TV shows like the X-files. There is no truth to these sinister assertions and the FEMA is just another US government agency meant to protect the citizens in the event of natural or man-made calamities.
